How Big Is The Interior Of A Chrysler Pacifica?

The Chrysler Pacifica is big enough to seat seven passengers. The base interior cargo measures 32.3 cubic feet. By folding down the last row of seats, cargo increases to 87.5 cubic feet. For even more space, fold all of the seats down for a maximum of 140.5 cubic feet of cargo space.

More specifically, this means that the length from the front seat to the back of the van is 91.7 inches. The interior is 48.8 inches wide. The height of the interior maxes out at 47.8 inches.

The Pacifica has three rows of seating. There are 41.4 inches of legroom in the front row. The second row offers 39 inches of legroom. Finally, the third row is the smallest, with legroom measuring 36.5 inches.

Can You Fit A Couch In A Chrysler Pacifica?

Whether or not you can fit a couch in a Chrysler Pacifica depends, of course, on how big the couch is. But most reasonably sized couches should be manageable. With a height of 47 inches and a width of 48 inches, that's nearly 4 feet on both counts. As long as your couch is less than 7.5 feet long, it can be done!

Will A Queen Mattress Fit In A Chrysler Pacifica?

Fitting a queen mattress into a Pacifica is a bit trickier than the couch mentioned earlier. The standard queen mattress is 60x80 inches. The Pacifica is long enough, with 91 inches of space.

It's the width that's tricky. The car is only 48 inches wide, just slightly more than half the 80 inches needed. Standing it upright won't help - the height is only 47 inches. Unless you can maneuver a way to fold the mattress in half, unlikely, you'll need to find another method for moving your mattress.

Do Chrysler Pacifica Seats Fold Flat?

The Chrysler Pacifica offers what the company calls "Stow'n Go® Seating." Both the second and third row of seats fold flat into the floor, leaving extra space for large cargo.

It saves you the hassle of having to physically remove seats, and then store them somewhere in the meantime. Plus, the in-floor bins can be used for extra storage when they aren't busy holding the stored seats.

Can You Remove The Middle Seat In Chrysler Pacifica?

The middle seat can be removed, but the method depends on which Pacifica model you have. There is a lesser-known eight-seat version of the Chrysler Pacifica, but this is not the standard model.

Most 2021 Pacificas seat seven passengers, with two captain's chairs in the middle row. The captain's chairs can be removed, but it's going to take some tools and effort.

What's The Difference Between Chrysler Pacifica And Voyager?

The biggest exterior difference between the Pacifica and the Voyager is that the Pacifica Hybrid weighs significantly more. It has an EV drivetrain and a battery pack that makes the vehicle heavier.

This only applies to the Hybrid, which can weigh as much as 600 pounds more. The standard Pacifica and Voyager share all the same dimensions:

  • Length- 203.8 inches
  • Width- 79.6 inches
  • Curb weight - 4,330 pounds
  • Height- 69.9 inches
  • Wheelbase- 121.6 inches
  • Ground clearance- 5.1 inches

What About The Interior and Features?

The interior has slight differences, primarily making seating a bit more convenient in the Pacifica. The Voyager has second-row bench seating, while the Pacifica has captain's chairs. There's also more room in the third row of the Pacifica, with an additional 15 inches of hip room.

Most of the interior standard features are the same. However, the Pacifica has Stow'n Go ® Seating in the second row. It also offers tri-zone climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, retractable second-row sunshades, more interior LED lighting, and a driver's seat with 4-way power lumbar.

Engines, once again, are essentially the same. It's only by purchasing the Pacifica Hybrid that you'll see any difference. It has two electric motors that make it slightly faster. The Hybrid goes to 60 in 7.4 seconds, versus the regular Pacifica or Voyager, which takes 7.6 seconds.

The Voyager is the more affordable option if you don't care about a lot of extra features or bells. The Pacifica has a higher price point but does come with a lot of comfort features. If you're looking for something closer to a luxury van, you'll want the Pacifica — and then you'll want to look at some of the upgraded trim options available.

The Voyager doesn't offer many other styles, with only two trim levels. The highest Voyager trim level still really only brings it up to the level of the basic Pacifica.

In Closing

Chrysler Pacifica SUV on a rugged road

The Chrysler Pacifica is a roomy minivan with lots of space for either cargo or passengers. The standard Pacifica holds seven, while there is an 8-seat version available. The cargo space is 32 cubic feet but increases to as much as 140.5 cubic feet once the seats are stowed. This is more, sometimes even double, than many truck beds can hold!

The seats stow away conveniently with Stow 'n Go® seating, making it easy to put them up and down whenever you need more room for cargo or more room for passengers. The Pacifica is even big enough to accommodate large items like a couch or 4x8 sheets of plywood. This means that it's a flexible van that you can use any way you need — and use it a different way later!

  1. Explain how an 8′ sheet of plywood can be transported if the distance from the back of the front seat to the rear is 91.7″
Either the wood hangs out the back and the door must remain open or the driver must balance the wood on their head.

    • You can’t take the numbers quite so literally. It’s a matter of about 4 inches between one and the other, which is mostly lost on technicalities. For example, they measure the seat from the furthest back position to give that “official measurement” but you can slide the seats forward and gain a few inches (most if not all cars do this). Also, the official measurement extends to where the tailgate trim starts, but you can still set the wood on the trim and shut the door. Granted, it’s “close” – but it fits.
