Does Hyundai Elantra have heated seats?

Hyundai first offered heated seats as a standard feature in the Hyundai Elantra Limited trim of its 2011 model year. The Elantra Limited trim has heated front seats and heated rear seats.

It offered heated seats as an option only on older models. Hyundai Elantra SE from 2008 to 2010 offered heated front seats as an optional add-on feature as part of a package of other different features.

It also offered power driver’s seats for the 2013 model year of Hyundai Elantra Limited.

The Hyundai Elantra Limited was the only trim that had heated front and back seats from 2011 to 2013. Hyundai Elantra's only other trim at that time—the Elantra GLS—did not have heated seats, nor did it offer heated seats as an option.

Elantra Models 2014 to 2015

Hyundai dropped its Elantra GLS trim in 2014 and replaced it with the Hyundai Elantra SE, and the Hyundai Elantra Sport trims.

The Hyundai Elantra SE trim did not have any heated seats. On the other hand, the Hyundai Elantra Sport trim had heated front seats—the second Hyundai Elantra trim that offered heated seats.

The Hyundai Elantra Sport and the Hyundai Elantra Limited also came with power driver seats.

Moreover, the Hyundai Elantra Limited trim continued to include heated front and back seats as a standard feature.

Hyundai added the Elantra Value Edition trim in 2016 in the face of dropping sales numbers. Like the Hyundai Elantra Sport, the Hyundai Elantra Value Edition also offered heated front seats.

The Hyundai Elantra Sport and the Hyundai Elantra Limited still included power driver seats as standard features.

Hyundai added another trim to the Elantra line in 2017 despite another drop in sales. The Hyundai Elantra Eco offered heated front seats like the Elantra Sport and the Elantra Value Edition.

The Hyundai Elantra Limited stopped including rear heated seats as a standard feature in 2017. Instead, it included heated front seats as a standard feature and offered heated rear seats as an optional feature.

This is the last year that Hyundai included heated rear seats in any Elantra trim. And it was only offered as an optional feature.

The Hyundai Elantra Value Edition and the Hyundai Elantra Limited are the only trims that included power driver's seats in 2017.

Hyundai stopped manufacturing the Hyundai Elantra Limited trim and replaced it with a less expensive Elantra SEL trim. The Hyundai Elantra SEL does not offer any heated seats, however. This left only the Hyundai Elantra Sport, Hyundai Elantra Eco, and the Hyundai Elantra Value Edition as the only Hyundai Elantra trims that had heated seats.

Hyundai stopped including power driver's seats as a standard feature on any of its trims for 2018 and 2019.

Hyundai stopped the manufacture of Elantra Sport in 2020 and replaced it by reissuing the Hyundai Elantra Limited that coincided with the unveiling of the seventh generation of Hyundai Elantra.

The Hyundai Elantra Limited offered heated front seats with no option to add rear heated seats unlike in its previous incarnations. Hyundai started to include a power driver seat in Hyundai Elantra Limited again for 2020.

Elantra Models 2021 to 2022

Hyundai stopped manufacturing the Hyundai Elantra Eco and the Hyundai Elantra Value Edition in 2021. These two trims were replaced by the Hyundai Elantra N Line trim that also offered heated front seats.

In 2021, the Hyundai Elantra SEL trim started to offer heated front seats as an optional feature.

Only the Hyundai Elantra N Line and the Hyundai Elantra Limited included heated front seats as a standard feature of its four trims in 2022. This is a drop from the three trims in 2020 that included heated front seats as a standard feature.

Additionally, Hyundai included power driver seats for Hyundai Elantra N Line and Hyundai Elantra Limited as a standard feature.

Does Hyundai Elantra have a climate control feature?

Now that we’re done talking about heated seats and heated steering wheels, it would make sense to talk about the availability of a climate control feature in the Hyundai Elantra. The availability of climate control was inconsistent in Hyundai Elantra’s different trims year after year, unlike the heated seats that became a more consistent feature in specific trims.

Hyundai started to offer optional climate control for the Hyundai Elantra Limited in 2015. This feature is not available for the other two trims for Hyundai Elantra for this year.

Hyundai Climate Control in 2016

Hyundai started to include climate control as a standard feature on the Hyundai Elantra Limited instead of an optional feature like in the previous year.

2017 Climate Control

Hyundai included climate control as a standard feature on Hyundai Elantra Eco and Hyundai Elantra Value edition when these two trims were introduced in 2017. Climate control also became an optional feature on the Hyundai Elantra Sport trim.

2018 & 2019 Climate Control Options

The Hyundai Elantra Limited trim was discontinued in 2018 as climate control remained an optional feature on the Hyundai Elantra Sport trim. It remained a standard feature on Hyundai Elantra Eco and Hyundai Elantra Value Edition.

For unknown reasons, Hyundai decided to stop offering the climate control option for the Hyundai Elantra Sport in 2019.

Climate Control in 2020

Hyundai included climate control as a standard feature on all trims of Hyundai Elantra in 2020. This is the only model year when the Hyundai Elantra SE included climate control as one of its standard features. It was also the first year that Hyundai Elantra SEL included climate control as a standard feature.

2021 & 2022 Climate Control Standard

Hyundai stopped offering climate control on the Hyundai Elantra SE in 2021 and this continued to 2022. Climate control remained a standard feature on all the other trims of Hyundai Elantra for 2021 and 2022.

How safe is it to drive Hyundai Elantra?

There are Hyundai Elantra trims that can keep you warm when you drive during winter. But can the Hyundai Elantra keep you safe as well?

The IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) rated Hyundai Elantra as one of its Top Safety Pick from 2011 to present under the small cars category.

IIHS measures a vehicle’s crashworthiness and its ability to avoid and mitigate crashes in its independent tests. Additionally, they also evaluate the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system of a vehicle based on its ease of use, the accessibility of lower anchors, location, clearance angle, etc.

Additionally, ANCAP Safety (Australian New Car Assessment Program) awarded Hyundai Elantra with a five-star rating from 2011 to 2016.

ANCAP’s safety ratings are based on tests that rate a vehicle’s adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, vulnerable road user protection, and safety assist.

What are the safety features of the Hyundai Elantra?

Hyundai Elantra achieved the safety awards mentioned in the previous section because of the safety features that come standard in all trims of recent model years.

All trims of Hyundai Elantra for model years 2021 and 2022 come preinstalled with the following safety features:

  • back-up camera
  • blind spot monitor
  • lane departure warning
