The Envision is Buick's compact luxury SUV. With the Buick Envision's fresh new design, the appeal is geared toward younger audiences. But ever wonder if the Buick Envision has third-row seating? We have asked experts about the details of the Envision interior, here is what we got from them.

Unfortunately, the Buick Envision does not come with third-row seating, but it is spacious enough to comfortably fit five people. When you get in the Envision, expect the two front seats to have headroom of 39.6 inches, legroom of 40.4 inches, and shoulder room of 56.7 inches. At the back, the Envision's second row offers headroom of 38.9 inches, legroom of 39.3 inches, and shoulder room of 55.9 inches.

Is The Buick Envision Roomy

The Envision is somewhat roomy. Being a compact SUV, you can expect the Buick Envision to be a bit smaller when compared to other SUVs that Buick offers. Though for the class, the Buick Envision does have enough room to comfortably seat five people -plus, it has decent cargo space at the back!

The Envision has a total passenger space of 100.4 cubic feet. This is enough room for five passengers to freely move around and sit comfortably. The front seats are firmer, but they will hold you up well for longer trips. At the back seat, your passengers will have a lot of headroom; it's great because your passengers will feel less cramped.

For the back of the vehicle, you have a cargo space of 25.2 cubic feet. You can even get more space when you fold down the rear seats. With the rear seats folded down, you get a total cargo space of 52.7 cubic feet.

The rear seats fold down in a 40/60 configuration. What's also great about Envision's cargo space is that when the rear seats are folded down, they sit flush with the cargo space floor.

What is Bigger: The Equinox or Envision

The Buick Envision is very similar to its cousin, the Chevrolet Equinox. Both vehicles are compact SUVs that are great to drive in the city because of their size. Having a bigger car means you have extra room for your cargo, and the car's users don't feel cramped while riding.

When comparing the size of the Buick Envision and Chevrolet Equinox, you can't really tell what is larger between the two because their dimensions are very close. But on paper, the Chevrolet Equinox is the larger vehicle between the two.

For the interior of both vehicles, you will notice little to no difference between the two. There is only less than an inch difference between both interiors.

But for the cargo space, the Chevrolet Equinox has the larger one between the two. The Equinox has 29.9 cubic feet and 63.9 cubic feet when the rear seats are down, while the Envision has 25.2 cubic feet and 52.7 cubic feet when the rear seats are down.

For the exterior of both vehicles:

  • the wheelbase of the Chevrolet Equinox is 107.3 inches, while the Buick Envision is 109.4 inches
  • the length of the Equinox is 183.1 inches, and the Envision is 182.5 inches
  • the width of the Equinox is 72.6 inches the Envision is 74.1 inches
  • the height of the Equinox is 65.4 inches, while the Envision is 64.6 inches.

The exterior dimensions of both vehicles are very close and are not noticeable unless you physically measure both cars yourself, so it's safe to say that both the Envision and Equinox are similar sizes.

What Car Is Similar To The Buick Envision

The Buick Envision is a practical compact luxury SUV, and right now, SUVs are one of the most popular vehicle types on the market today. With that being said, the Buick Envision has many competitors to rival in that category. Here are some of the most common competitors of the Buick Envision.

Acura RDX

The Acura RDX is a close competitor to the Buick Envision. For the looks of both cars, the Buick Envision is the more luxury-looking SUV between the two. The Acura RDX has a more sporty look which portrays it as a more adventurous vehicle.

For the engine, the RDX has a horsepower of 272, while the Envision has 228 horsepower. The RDX may have better acceleration, though the Envision has smoother shifting with the help of its 9-speed automatic transmission.

For the interior of both vehicles, the Buick Envision offers luxurious and comfortable seating. The Buick Envision also has multiple storage areas around its cabin. If you want a more luxurious interior, you can select the Avenir trim, which includes an enhanced infotainment system, comfier leather seats, and many more.

While the RDX also has a comfortable interior and a large sunroof, you can also choose its trim upgrade which is called the Technology Package. In the Technology Package, you get leather seats, better audio systems, and navigation on the infotainment device.

Overall the Buick Envision is the more luxurious option between the two. The Envision's base trim is also cheaper compared to the base trim of the RDX. In the end, if you take all of the features of the Envision when compared to the RDX, the Envision outshines it, plus it comes in a cheaper package.

Lincoln Corsair

The Lincoln Corsair is another competitor of the Buick Envision, but unlike the Envision that has an overhauled new look, the latest Corsair still has the same exterior design as the previous year. When it comes to luxury, the Buick Envision beats the Lincoln Corsair because it has a more modern, luxurious feel compared to the Corsair.

For the engines of the two vehicles, the Lincoln Corsair has more engine options, such as the turbocharged 2.0 liter inline-four that makes 250 horsepower, a turbocharged 2.3 liter inline-four that makes295 horsepower, and a 2.5 liter hybrid engine that makes 266 horsepower.

While the Envision only offers one engine, which is the turbocharged 2.0 liter making 230 horsepower. Overall the Corsair has better engine options, plus it has a higher towing capacity of 3,000 pounds compared to the Envision which is rated to tow 1,500 pounds.

Overall, both the Buick Envision and the Lincoln Corsair are great luxury SUVs that are both offered in an FWD or AWD. They also both focused on the luxury aspect in designing and making the interior giving their users extra comfort. Even though they have similar features, the Envision is much cheaper compared to the Corsair, possibly making it a better choice.

Closing

Though the Buick Envision does not have third-row seating, it still has a roomy interior that can accommodate five people comfortably. Even if the Buick Envision is considered a compact SUV, it has a decent amount of cargo space for your belongings.

The Buick Envision is a great car even when compared to its competitors. The Envision offers a new look and a ton of luxury amenities that its user will surely enjoy. The best part of the Envision is even if it's got a new look and added features, it's cheaper than its previous models.
