Keeping your tires maintained is an important part of having a vehicle. Unfortunately, not all tires require the same amount of air pressure. This makes it important to know where and how to find your car's tire pressure information. If you're driving the commercial Ford Transit, then you're in luck. We've done the research and can tell you what your tire pressure should be based on the Transit model and year.
The Ford Transit 150 has the following tire pressure requirements:

What is Tire Pressure?
Tire pressure is significant for every type of car. Your tires' psi is the minimum amount of air pressure needed to support your car at full weight. Keeping your tires properly filled will make driving more comfortable and improve your vehicle's overall efficiency.
Unfortunately, tire pressure can fluctuate. Every month your tire loses around one psi. PSI can also change drastically because of the weather outside. This is why it's recommended to check your tire pressure at least once every month.
Should all four tires have the same PSI?
What your tire pressure should be is decided on by the manufacturer. While they can recommend the same pressure for each tire, they often don't. Always double-check the pressure for your vehicle before filling your tires with air. This will ensure that your car drives in the best way and will prevent premature wear down of your tires.
Where do you find the proper tire PSI for a moving van?
You can find the correct tire pressure for your vehicle in a few different places. The first place is in your car's owner manual. That handy book has all the important information for your car. This includes the correct tire pressure and tire sizes for your vehicle.
The second place to find tire pressure information is on a sticker inside your car. To find this sticker, open your driver's side door and check along the doorframe. There are usually one or two different stickers there. One will have tire and loading information for your vehicle. You could also find the sticker on the trunk lid, console, or fuel door. If you don't have a sticker in any of those locations, then you'll have to use the owner's manual instead.
If you don't have the owner's manual or the sticker inside the car, it may be possible to find the information online. Many car makers have their vehicles' manuals available on their websites. However, this should only be done as a last resort as your manual may not be available.
Is tire pressure affected by cargo?
Tire pressure can be affected in extreme situations. As long as the weight you're carrying in your vehicle doesn't exceed your tires' maximum load capabilities, you shouldn't see a change in tire pressure.
However, if you're carrying a lot of cargo, it's important to double-check your total weight. If the weight of your cargo and passengers exceeds your tires' capabilities, you can overload your vehicle. Overloading your vehicle can cause many damages to your car and roads alike. A heavy car puts strains on your tires and your engine. It is also less stable to drive and has worse fuel consumption. To determine how much weight your car can hold, you'll need to check your owner's manual or the driver's side sticker.

How do I check PSI?
Checking the tire pressure for your car is a fairly simple process. First, you'll need to make sure you have a tire pressure gauge. These gauges are small enough that they can fit in your glove compartment for easy storage.
Once you have your tire pressure gauge, you'll need to locate the valve cap on one of your tires. Remove this cap and then insert the gauge into the valve stem on the tire. Read the pressure from your gauge and add any air if necessary. Finally, replace the valve cap. You're all finished once you've completed all four tires.

What happens if tire pressure is too high?
If you add too much air into your tires, you risk distorting the tire shape. This leads to decreased traction on the road. Not only that, but you also run a greater risk of damaging your tires. An overfilled tire is less flexible. This inflexibility makes them more likely to be damaged by debris and potholes.
If you frequently overfill your tires, then you'll see uneven wearing on your tires. Since the tire's shape distorts, only the center part touches the ground. You'll have wear and tear on the center part of your tire and not the edges.

What happens if PSI is too low?
Driving with tire pressure that is too low can be dangerous. The sidewalls of tires flex more when they're underinflated. This flexing can cause heat to build up within the tire. If this heat gets severe, then the rubber of the tire can separate from its carcass. This sudden lack of air pressure is called a tire blowout. Tire blowouts are dangerous and can cause you to lose control of your vehicle.

It's important to have the proper tire pressure for whatever vehicle you're driving in. Filling your tires with the proper air helps ensure everything runs smoothly and can help protect you from accidents. To find the tire pressure for your vehicle, check either your information sticker or your owner's manual. Don't forget to check your tires monthly, as the pressure can change over time!
