The different trim levels of the 2022 Hyundai Palisade explained

No matter what trim level you choose for this year's Palisade, you'll be in a highly safety-rated vehicle. The Palisade is also ranked #1 for mid-sized SUVs by U.S. News and World Report.

But you will find that each trim level offers something different from the last. Let's break down the four of them, so you'll know exactly what you are looking for before you head to the dealership.

Palisade SE

The base model of the 2022 Palisade is the SE. Though the lowest of the four trim levels, you'll find that the SE still comes equipped with many great features that make it worthy of your consideration.

Onboard this trim level, you'll find most of the latest technology features that ease the strain of a long drive and add enhanced safety for you and your passengers. The SE is equipped to pair with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, has Bluetooth connectivity, and has an eight-inch infotainment screen. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection system, and lane-keeping assist are also part of the standard features.

All trim levels of this model year's Palisade will have a 3.5-liter V6 engine under its hood. This powerful machine is capable of 291 horsepower. It comes standard in front-wheel drive, but you can opt to have it configured with all-wheel drive for an additional cost.

Palisade SEL

One level up from the base, the SEL takes all of the standard features of the SE and adds some terrific onboard benefits. Whether it's the sunroof or the heated front seats, you'll find that the SEL separates itself with even more creature comforts.

The SEL also adds remote engine start, proximity keyless entry, and a universal garage door opener to the Palisade. Rather than a second-row bench seat, the SEL will come equipped with captain's chairs.

Power lumbar support for the driver's seat adds a nice comfortable touch for this trim level.

Palisade Limited

One look at the inside of this trim level, and you'll see [and smell!] the differences between it and the lower-tier trims. The all-leather seats add a great touch of luxury to the interior of the Limited, offering a soft and smooth surface. The passenger seat is also powered.

But perhaps the ultimate comfort is added to this trim level. The front and second rows of seats are not only heated but cooled. No matter the climate, you and your passengers will find your bodies coming adjusting quicker and easier with these standard features.

A heated steering wheel, memory side mirrors, and a powered liftgate are also standard for the Limited trim.

Palisade Calligraphy

Finally, we have the premium trim level for the 2022 Palisade. With all of the standard features of the Limited trim, you wouldn't think that there'd be too much more Hyundai could offer the driver. But as you can see, the Calligraphy doesn't disappoint here, either.

The premium front grille on the Calligraphy gives it a more sleek look that stands out. Mirror approach lights are also equipped on this trim level, as is the roof-mounted Center High-Mounted Stop Light.

The interior takes the luxurious appearance of the Limited and adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The microfiber suede that covers the ceiling complements the leather interior, as do the quilted leather door panels.

What does the Premium Package include for the 2022 Palisade?

The Premium Package for the Palisade is offered on the SEL trim level only. Equipping your vehicle with this package will give you some standard features in the upper trim levels.

This package will add leather upholstery to the seats of the SUV. The second row of seating will be heated [but not cooled], and memory seating will be added to the passenger seat.

The infotainment screen is upgraded in size from eight inches to 10.25 inches.

Does the Hyundai Palisade have the third row of seating?

Like some mid-sized SUVs, you'll find that the Hyundai Palisade is built with a third row. This extra seating will allow for a total rider occupancy of seven or eight, depending on the trim level selected.

So long as you have a second-row bench seat, you will be able to ride eight with the 2022 Palisade. The bench seat for this row comes equipped with the base trim SE, with the SEL, Limited, and Calligraphy having second-row captain's chairs.

As we pointed out earlier, you can opt for the Premium Package for the SEL trim, which gives it a second-row bench seat.

How long will a Hyundai Palisade last?

Consumers often look for longevity when it comes to the vehicle they drive the most often. Many cannot afford to replace their car or SUV every few years and want one that can last a decade or longer.

Thankfully, the Hyundai Palisade has a storied history of longevity. This SUV is reliable, but it will also last upward of 200,000 miles. Given the average driver puts 15,000 miles per year on their vehicle, the Palisade should last more than 13 years.

Of course, getting to any high mileage mark means taking proper care of your vehicle. Abide by the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual for the best results. Routine oil changes, mechanical inspections, and filter replacements will go a long way in keeping your Palisade on the road for a long time.
