What Happened to All the Minivans?

Up until a few years ago no matter where you looked you sign minivans everywhere. Now they seem to be disappearing completely.  You still see a lot of used minivans, but you do not see very many new models introduction. Why is this? America used to be in love with the minivan it was the perfect family vehicle and it offered plenty of space without compromising performance.

The SUV and the crossover seem to have killed that off. these vehicles offer the comfort and stability of a minivan and the ability to travel on all different types of terrain.  There was also a stigma that was attached to the minivan such as soccer moms and daycare dads so this may be a combined effect of having more options and socioeconomic trends.

The Current Generation of Minivans

There are a lot of similarities between the vans on this list. If you pay close attention you will find that most of them offer an all-wheel-drive option. This may be an attempt to keep up in a saturated vehicle market. The deciding option then generally comes down to brand preference and product reviews.

They may appear to be the same or similar. That is not always the case. Each brand has its signature features and styles It would appear that manufacturers are concentrating more on developing and maintaining that signature in each model.

For this article, we compared the base models of all the vehicles listed. We have provided a link to the manufacturer for each minivan. You can click on that to be taken to their sites to compare trims and other options. We did not cover all “vans”. That list is much larger. The Pricepoint

Another common factor that you will see with this list is that there is very little difference in the price of each van. The market is so tight that there is not much room to budge. Each brand is trying to remain competitive and still sell vehicles. This may not be good for the manufacturers but it is great news for consumers. You are able to get an awesome van at a great price!
